Default Colour pallet for a documentary

Hi all. I'm new to all of this I'm currently working on my first production which happens to be a documentary. I've watched a few videos from some directors and was wondering if a color pallet is applicable for a documentary?

You should approach a documentary the same way you approach a narrative film: there's a general direction, style, and mood to the film. That being said, color pallet plays a huge role into how a scene can be shot.

I shot a documentary for the band Company of Thieves earlier this year and I used a warm color pallet for majority of the film to give a sense of warmth to the band member's life.

Doc's can't be as finely controlled as a narrative film, but you can still make decisions that play into the color pallet like interview locations, color temperature, and the final color grade.
