    Default Buying a camera

    Hi all

I am a video editor and produce promotional videos and short films. I am looking looking to buy a camera to produce professional video. My budget is 1000 (which I know is not huge, but all I can afford). What can people recommend?

    Many thanks

I'm not sure about professional videos but I do amateur videos with the Coolpix B700 in 4K and am very satisfied with this camera after previously using Nikon dslr's for HD video. The B700 switches to full auto mode for video and can be set for silent tracking autofocusing (takes 1 to 3 seconds to automatically refocus) when the subject is out of focus and almost instant change of the aperture/shutter/iso to get the best image when the light changes. It can shoot silent still pics during video filming so I can later check the still pic exif data to see the actual shutter speed, iso and aperture selected by the camera for the video scene. At first I thought this full auto feature was a downside because I had always used manual iso, aperture and shutter speed controls for video on my dslr's, but the more I use it the more I see this feature as a big plus as I can get good footage in lower light situations without lighting up the scene and can get accurate silent autofocus as I change subjects while the video is recording. I bought this camera mainly for 4K video and have not been disappointed. The fixed lens has an equivalent zoom focal length range of 24mm to 1440mm.
