Cool Building a monster through Indiegogo + donated treasured items

FILM SYNOPSIS: The Molok follows Micah, a young boy forced to deal with lifeís harsh realities too quickly, too soon. While fleeing the impending loss of his terminally ill mother, Micah finds his way into a fire-ravaged building, where he encounters an ancient creature residing among the wreckage, collecting and coveting the lost treasures, hopes, and dreams of childrenís forgotten youth. The Molok holds a secret to overcoming the painful memories that Micah has repressed - perhaps even the key to the boyís salvation. But what does Molok want from the boy in return? The cost may be too high.

Molok itself is a 13-foot live action monster made of lost things and forgotten stories sourced from the public. Molok's very body is made of the objects it covets: treasures lost, tokens cast away, trinkets stolen, etc. Our chief sculptor, Annalisa Barron, is building a prototype during her residency at the Vermont Studio Center before proceeding to build the 13-foot scale creature in fall 2018. Through creating both this creature and film, we aim to bring practical effects back into mainstream filmmaking.

In addition to crowdfunding for the tools needed to build our creature, we are taking object submissions from our fans and followers. People from all around the world can submit their items to be built into our creature, making it more than just a film, but a collaborative art project. Itís not just a movie prop; itís a work of art. As a collaborative sculpture, Molok the creature will serve as both a time capsule of forgotten treasures and a chance for our viewers to be involved in the making of the film.
