Default Considdering plans for a nudist type film

Planning to write the script, might see about croudfunding to fund the film. Would be an independant film, not really sure how much to ask for, will need to work it out after I've written everything up, know the length, number of characters ect.

Was thinking of basing it on a classic story. A few ideas in mind but not quite decided yet.

The nudity would be, for example if anyone has seen "The Warrior and the Sorceress." Old film now, the character Naja was topless the entire film but it was never pointed out, she just was. It was just normal. That was what I had in mind. A fantasy type story, the characters would be nude but it wouldn't ever be mentioned/pointed out. like Naja being topless in "The Warrior and the Sorceress."

    Hey, thanks.
All actors/acresses would be 18+ obviously. One idea was Alice in Wonderland. Kate Beckinsale was about 25 when she played Alice, Mia Wasikowska was about 19-20 when she did(and even in film stated to be 19). So its fine to have Alice as an adult.
Some characters from the story would be changed to be human. White Rabbit could be a bunny girl without the leotard, just the ears and tail. The card people could have the card suit and numbers body painted on them.
For Alice herself, one idea I had in mind was that she may begin the film fully dressed. Very near the beginning she drinks the potion that shrinks her then eats cake that makes her grow. For her to be naked her clothes wouldn't change size with her. So she shrinks, obviously the clothes are too big for her to even attempt to put on. Maybe she'll abandon them then, maybe they are destroyed when she eats the cake, starts growing, attempts to put them back on but keeps growing and they are ripped. Might be embarrassed to begin with but probably within her first encounter with another person they are naked, don't point out anything about her being naked, she doesn't say anything to them about it. Maybe as she leaves she says to herself that they seemed fine with it. After this nudity is never mentioned again. Like Naja from the Warrior and the Sorceress as I mentioned in the first post, she is constantly topless but nobody says anything about it.

How is the idea sounding so far?

I think it sounds promising. Just be sure that you're working from Lewis Carroll's original book and not from any of the film adaptations, as the book is in the public domain but the movies are not.

I'm sure you realize that it's not easy to find actors/actresses who are willing to appear nude. Not impossible, but it can be a challenge.

Thanks, yeah, will need to make sure everything is based on the book, not based on anything in any of the film adaptations. Was looking about Starnow, to see about actors/actresses. Any other sites you would recommend? Or should when I have things written I start an advert on Starnow?
Will need to look into how much to ask for via crowdfunding. Will be a budget film but even then hiing cast, camera crew, editors.

Also been thinking what the BBFC would rate this type of film.

I'm in the US so I don't know your sites enough to comment. But I would wait until you have a pretty solid draft done before looking for cast and/or crew, because that's the first thing people will ask for.

In the US, many (most) low budget indies don't bother with a rating.

I've read it again cover to cover, it had been a while since I last read the book. The talking door handle wasn't in the book for example. So stuff like that couldn't be included.
One idea I had was changing a few of the animal characters to elves. Like the race near the beginning a group of different species of elves rather than birds and rodents. Was also thinking of adding an elf during the scene just after she fell down the rabbit hole into the corridor. Maybe the elf would ask her to open the door during the time she is too big to get through herself but can reach the key, after shrinking then growing 9ft. After the elf disappears off through the door Alice says something along the lines of, "She didn't seem to have any problem with being naked and took no notice of me being so." After that the nudity would never be mentioned again, it would just be there.
Was thinking of going through the book thoroughly. Read a chapter, work on a scene for it. Take it taking it slowly, getting the script written. How would these ideas be?

I would focus less on matching scene to chapter, and more on adapting the story generally. But either way, write a first draft, and see what you have. Then re-write it. Rinse and repeat :)

    Good luck!

Thanks, I'll bear this in mind. Just working out the list of characters just now. Then going to start of writing the script. I've studied plays in Higher English. I take it the script would be written a similar way?
    Speach for example.
    Alice: Curiouser and curiuosr.

    Actions done in italic?

If the first one is successful might see about Alice Through the Looking Glass, even thought of a way I could link the two... well I've read both books, they could petty much be standalone but as Through the Looking Glass is the second it would be the sequel. Planing to include a couple of characters from Wonderland.

Screenplays are very rule-driven, so make sure you acquaint yourself with how they're done. If you can, use screenwriting software - Celtx and Final Draft are the most common, but there are several others. They will help you to set up action, dialogue, etc. properly.

Sorry about the late reply, was doing an almost screen free July lol. Thanks for the links. Have downloaded Trelby for now to get started with a script. Might see about one of those two when I'm ready to do final draft.
If it's okay with you, maybe after writing some scenes I could send you a copy, see what you think of how I am doing?

I'd be happy to take a look at a few scenes.
