Hi my name is Joshua, i'm 15 years old and from a young age i knew that my life was film or nothing. Im a very focused guy when it comes to this and i have decided to not to go to film school in order to get way more on set practical experience, but my question for today is should i move to La at age 20 or just go to another filmmaking state? I'm doing freelancing work now and after i graduate i plan on doing more freelance work in order to save up money to move to the states. However im wondering should i play it safe and go to a place like Atlanta for a while do some freelance work there while working on my own personal short films, and what not on the side then hop over to La or should i just dive straight into La, take the risk like so many people say with no credentials (other then my freelance work which i believe no one will really care about) , no portfolio, and build myself from the ground up there hopefully working on sets, doing my own projects, shooting different videos etc. Honestly im not afraid to work the lowest job on a film set for a while and work my way up as long as im working some where related to film making and learning as i go. I know moving to LA will be hard, tough and even feel down right crushing at times and for a 20 year old for many may seem dumb. but i feel as though im capable of making it happen! but i still need the advice of some wise folk out there who have either done it or just know a thing or two it will extremely be helpful in knowing where to go from here. Thank you
