  • The Basics of HTML sites

    So if you have any sort of notepad or text editor, did you know you can create a webpage?

    Many people just don't realize you just have to save your text to a index.html file extension and the
    internet will do the rest.

    The language you need to allow the web to read your site for HTML is the code below - Keep in mind that
    this is the very BASIC version

    To start a page and to have the internet read it correctly you need to tell it what it is, in this case you need
    to tell the web that it is a HTML page. This opening text does just that
    Code:
    <html>
    Here is an example of the worlds simplest website

    Code:
    <html>
    <head>
    <body>

    Hello Everyone!

    </body>
    </head>
    </html>
    If you copied and pasted this into your text editor, then saved it as a index.html file and uploaded
    this to your server, you would have a website.

    Notice the </html> the trailing / is needed to tell the web that you are ending your document.

    I will be going into more advanced segments soon, but this is the basics of HTML coding
