Can you please share which helicopter or octocopter you used? I have done a bit of research on this about 2 months ago, but which is strong enough to carry the camera.

Thanks Paul! we build our own helicopters and gimbals for our personal use but there are ready made helis available from various RC companies.

Hi Jimmy, we have a 2-man operation where one guy is the pilot and the other operates the camera gimbal's pan/tilt function very similar to a crane operator using a Jimmy Jib with a robot head. We built a miniature head similar to Filmotechnic's flighthead as seen here: Filmotechnic
We're able to pan continuously 360, tilt 90 straight down as well as dutch roll.

A photo of our remote head below.

Great stuff. I can't believe that you create the heli's yourself. Are you using servos for the arms? I am a big 8th scale buggy RC racer :)

Very cool, an RC guy :)

The stabilized camera gimbal is driven by servos on the pan/tilt and roll axis.
Eight brushless motors fitted with 13" fixed pitch propellers are used for flight.

                              Wow.

No offense and not to sound arrogant, but I felt like the my group and myself had some of the strongest ability when it came to cinematics on this site. Just because I've been doing it for a few years and stuff. But wow does this top anything I've done in my time so far. Absolutely incredible and beautiful shots, seriously.

                              Well done. Love it.
