  • Interviewing in the past tense? Documentary style

Ok guys, this has been bugging me for a long time and I want to know how to do this.

In reality TV shows (the good ones) like "Gold Rush" when the gold miner is getting interviewed they are being interviewed at the end of the day. So as you see the episode they talk as if it is happening right as you are watching the episode.

How do they make someone that experience something all day talk like it is happening right then when interviewing?

Thanks you! This has been bugging me for a long time!!!!!

This is actually a great question, Tommy Pietch is a member here and he was on the reality show called "Face Off" - I will text him and see if he can answer this for you

Thanks for that Nick, I got a PM and for those wondering.

They complete the day, then interview after. but when they are interviewing them they are watching a rough scene and the interviewer is asking them what they though and that time and they must talk in present tense.
