    Hi Folks,

I've been working on a long term passion project for 15 years. It's a feature documentary which I Produced and Directed. My question is - for a period of the production - filming of reconstructions and some key interviews, I brought a producer on board. That person was not involved in the treatment, financing, the majority of the filming, structure or post of the project. While I was across all elements I have no wish to give myself an executive producer credit and am sticking to Producer and Director. What would be the correct credit to give that person? Many thanks for your input.

Did you agree to a producer credit for that person when he did the work described? If so, give it to him. It's quite common to see multiple/many producers on a project. If you did most of the work, list yourself first. You might also consider giving yourself the credit "produced by" and the other person simply a "producer" credit - that implies that you did most of the work.

    And welcome to Filmmaker Forum!

I agree with Mara. I would also add the option of "Segment Producer" for someone who was producing on the project for a period of time.

...their are more "Producer" type credits (Producer, executive Producer, associate Producer, co-Producer, Line Producer, etc, etc, etc) than there are stars in the sky. The term PRODUCER should be limited to the main individual that got the project done... the rest are lollipops given for many various reasons to many various people. The suggestion of "segment" Producer that DaKiller suggested seems rather appropriate here...
