  • Filmmaking workshop in NYC

I'm going to be in NYC for a few weeks in June. Does anybody know of any good workshops for aspiring filmmakers. I looked into NYFA but it's a little too expensive for me.

I bet the entry fee to get into ones in New York are ridiculous. There is one coming up soon here in West Virginia, and it is like a $75 entry fee and its only for like an 8hr seminar.

Thats not too bad, but I know of some that are super expensive.

Yeah everything in NYC is ridiculously expensive. Expect to pay almost double anywhere outside of New York if you are really tight on cash I would not consider really going to one there unless you just absolutley cant resist it. I know there are many webinars available online that are super cheap and you could say you saw a seminar in NYC just in your hotel room on wifi. Something cheaper you could do is look at like a 3 day class or something at a film school too they would have things cheaper that last longer.

A webinar is a good idea! Do you know of any?

I don't know of any inexpensive workshops there, but it you like Chinese food, definitely go to Chinatown. The food is great and most of the smaller restaurants are very inexpensive. Try Mulberry and the side streets off Mott where the locals eat.

As long as I mentioned Mulberry St., that's where you can get some of the best canolis in the world.
