Hey I need help trying to edit a video to look like this style. What's the best program? I really like vintage effects and cool typography. Here's a video I found of what I want. Any tips?

With Final Cut X you will have a default effect that will perform something just like that

I think that was done by lens whacking.

I am pretty sure that she is talking about the lens flares that are going on, and that would be a simple effect that Final Cut should have (in newest version) or something you can at least download

Not sure if the style you mean is the color or the fogging effect that comes and goes.

Color can be edited with Apple's Color, or even in FCPro. Plus After Effects, of course.

The fogging can be done with lens flare video clips, though they're not technically lens flares.....I have a ton that I use in my work, but I'm not sure where I got them. The ones in that video are pretty subtle so they're probably set at low opacity. The lens flare clips are supposed to emulate film fogging.

Pretty sure you can find something like it on youtube, but at low quality.

I may have some small enough to email, if you want to contact me directly at:

I think you can get some of the light spill in post. I'm not sure if that's how they did it, but I found something similar being sold on Rody Polis' website (the $20 lens FX pack). I don't know if it works, but it looks cool.

                Hope this helps,

                    Way to go, Mighty....

Those look a lot like the ones I have and use. They call these film burns, but I've heard them called light leaks and a bunch of other names.

                    Good find.
