  • If you had $5,000 to spend on promotion and marketing for a film...

what would be the best way to spend it (for maximum results of course)? Aside from good artwork, poster and trailer.

Curious to hear thoughts on that.

#1 First I would find out what kind of audience I have for my film.

#2 Then research were they are online and what they are interested in.

#3 The I would creating an ad banner with Google Adwords and target certain keywords in accordance with #1 and #2

Of course this is if there is already amazing artwork, Trailer, Poster etc.. and there is still $5,000 left over.

#4 Save it for your next film

Let me add a #5 to Nick's four.

There are "groups" that have websites and even meet-ups for movies of just about any genre. For example, Google "horror movie groups". Become a member of these sites. Promote your movie there. Ask if you can buy banner space, add a trailer, etc.
