LOGLINE: The gay son of a racist Korean store owner begins a forbidden love affair with a young black man during the 1992 Los Angeles race riots.

SYNOPSIS: “Do you know why you never see black and Asian together? Because Asians hate blacks! They just don’t mix!” These are the racist words Tommy Choi hears constantly, especially after his family’s market is nearly destroyed by black looters in the 1992 L.A. uprising. Things quickly spiral out of control when Tommy meets Lamar, a black music teacher living in the ghetto of Compton, California. Tommy’s tyrannical father suspects there’s more than just a friendship between the two and does everything he can to kill the budding romance. While attending Lamar’s birthday party, Tommy meets Lamar’s Aunt Clara, a creepy blind woman with the uncanny ability to see into the future. She tells Tommy that he and Lamar’s romance is doomed. Somebody is going to die, she warns him. Tommy realizes the only thing that can save him and Lamar is the strength of their love. But is that enough to stop the inevitable?
