Script for sale - Whistleblower - Is anyone interested in a near future sci-fi horror series (6 x 1 hour episodes + sequel + bags of potential)? It’s very fast paced and gripping drama based on my two books Whistleblower and Retribution. It would be high(ish) budget (think ‘Flash Forward’ or ‘Wayward Pines’ but a gripping detective thriller horror). It’s written in the Raymond Chandler style. It’s edge of seat thrilling and tastefully gory. Each episode ends with a cliff hanger and the plot is complex and intelligent supporting a high octane action pace.

Logline: Earth is blighted by kids that kill. It’s Jake Redwood’s job to stop them. When the mysterious and beautiful Jane tells him these are just a symptom of something much worse going on, it starts a roller coaster ride to save the planet from alien mercenaries paid to wipe out mankind.

I can send episodes, a synopsis or the full scrip plus the novels to anyone interested. (first 2 parts of ep. 1 attached).

Best,

David

I liked it. Not a fan of that much voice over but from what I saw most can be eliminated by just acting rather than the voice over. At first I thought it was panning out to be a ripoff of Blade runner, with the test for the implant (replicant) but it quickly went out on its own. Good stuff.

Thanks Mick, much appreciated. The VO is my cap doffing towards the Raymond Chandler (Philip Marlowe) detective thriller style. It's also my lazy way of packing a lot of information into the story without lengthy dialogue exchanges.

Thanks again,

David

I wish I had the budget to buy that and film it. I know exactly how I would shoot it. Gritty, dirty futuristic sets and Ridley Scott style lighting.

Thanks for the really positive comments, much appreciated. Although a relatively small cast it would have to be a fair sized budget for the CGI and effects (especially later in the series - I nuke Anglesey!). I've uploaded part two of the first episode FYI, so you can see how it grows.

The books were written in 6k word chapters, each giving 30 minutes of TV. So, as well as the break neck speed plot, it give 2 major cliff hangers in each of the 12 x 1 hour episodes. You can also see at the end of Retribution how the door opens to massive further potential.

You can check the books out, Whistleblower and Retribution, on my website; www.davidsmithbooks.co.uk

Thanks again and have a great day,

David
