Hi Angel!

I have a script entitled WHAT IF... It's an 8 page rom com about a nerdy student who has a crush on the hot girl in school and he wonders "What If..." he were to ask her out. His imagination fills in the rest. Tiny twist at the end. It's set at a college but it could easily be adapted to a high school setting without any difficulty.

My work has been praised by actors Tom Hanks and Dan Aykroyd and director Dennis Dugan. I have many screen credits which include two feature films.

Top Hat & Tails
A short film without dialogue.

All Exteriors – Day.

Fade-up on a deserted city street(early a.m.)
From behind camera- a man passes- heading along the street. He is ALBERT. He is dressed casually- walking without purpose- tired and bored.
FOOTSTEPS(OFF)- alert Albert and he looks to his right.
A stranger emerges(the GENT)from a corner- wearing full evening dress and top hat- walking very erect, dignified- neither looking left or right- but striding purposefully.
Albert watches as the Gent passes him on the other side of the street- apparently oblivious to Albert. Albert stares.

Albert crosses at an intersection- only to see another Gent striding past him- same clothes- same stony expression and heading purposefully away. Albert watches- looks bemused.
Albert crosses the road where the Gent came from- walks on.
Ahead- a Gent appears from the corner- striding down to Albert- and passes within inches- oblivious to Albert’s look as he stands aside for the Gent to pass.
Albert hurries to the corner- looks in all directions- sees nothing. Across the street stands a dark kiosk, like an old-fashioned police box(Dr. Who type.)
As Albert stares along each of the four streets of the intersection- we hear(OFF)a door slam and Albert looks over to the kiosk- sees a Gent striding towards him and past.
Albert hurries over to the kiosk- examines it and slowly walks around it. At the back of the kiosk- a door is slightly ajar. Albert looks along the street- cautiously
peers into the kiosk- then slowly enters.
The kiosk door slams shut- a moment passes- a door at the front of the kiosk opens and a Gent emerges, with Albert’s face- striding down the street. END.

Sicko’s

A car comes along a secluded (countryside?) road- stops- and two people emerge and go to the rear. Radio sounds continue throughout- the two men exchange a look- a smile- and open the boot.
Inside the boot- a body- tied or taped at ankles and wrists and with a black-bin-liner covering from head to waist- wriggles, kicks and screams.
The two men lift the body from the boot- screams, legs kicking- carry a few yards and drop.
The body lying - wriggling and screaming.
As we draw back- the two men begin to beat on the prone body- kicks, sticks, bricks?
We TRACK- to the car- the boot and doors open- with music playing against the moans and groans of the victim. The rear seat- noticing a writing-pad lying on top of a newspaper- both illegible.
The two men at the boot of the car- one grabs a petrol can and they head to the victim - splash the petrol over the victim and trail it towards the car
The two men replace the petrol-can in the boot- close-it – light the petrol trail and drive off.
We see them head into the country- while the fire burns towards the victim.

CLOSE-IN-ON One of the men reaching into the rear and holds up the writing-pad. The pad contains a series of names/addresses with some scored out. The man scores out another name- throws the pad onto the rear seat again.
CLOSE-UP
The pad- lying at an angle across a newspaper displaying the headline-
Local perverts;.named and shamed! Car heads off-
Fade Out.

5 or 10?

Premise: The idea is- a woman comes-on to a man( any situation) and she seduces him in some secluded place. Before she leaves- she asks his name- makes a note in her phone- smiles- and closes her phone.
He asks why she wanted his name- not his number? She tells him she just keeps the name- and puts a points score.
He asks about the score- she smiles, kisses his cheek- say’s he was a ‘4’.
At this point- she smiles again- and leaves- in such a way as he can’t respond. She could go into an elevator, shoot-off in a car- close a door- anything- as long as she leaves him- counting out four fingers on his hand, smiling- then looking serious- shouting after her-
‘Out of what?’…’Out of What’?.

Fade Out to title………FIVE OR TEN?

All Interiors -

- Open with a hollow dripping sound, echoing throughout.

1- FADE IN -to a dull light on the corner of the screen.

2- FOCUS UP - the light, overhead illuminating a tunnel.

3- PULL BACK – more of the tunnel – then – IAN, standing

4- CLOSE - on IAN – frightened – eyes wide – staring.

5- CLOSE-UP -of his eyes – he blinks – Cut-to-Black
-(Sound)- Continuous dripping – plus heavy heartbeat.

6- FADE-IN– From Deep Focus – emerge from one eye –
Pull Back – M/Wide – he stares ahead.

7– IAN’S POV- the tunnel ahead, bending, dark.

8- PAN – back to IAN – shivers – bends – picks-up a
coat at his feet – puts it on – looks behind.

9- IAN’S POV–(Sound)-heavy footfalls, running – then a
shadow appears – a man, running – hard!

10- CLOSE-SHOT– IAN, scared – starts running.

11- IAN’s POV– the tunnel ahead - the walls curve away.
Still running – he turns – sees the figure behind still in pursuit.

12- MED/SHOT– IAN stop – discard the coat – run-on.

13- PAN TO – follow IAN. He stops – breathing hard.

14- IAN’S POV – a man ahead – sees IAN – starts to run.

15- CLOSE-IN-ON– the man ahead – and it is IAN.

16- PAN TO – the man running behind – it is IAN.
He looks back – scared.

17- IAN’S POV – sees the man behind put the coat on.

18- CLOSE IN – the man behind – and it is IAN. He starts
to run– looking over his shoulder, afraid.

ALL INTERIORS - DAY SHOTS.

FADE IN ON
1 INT. A ROOM -DAY
The room is sparsely furnished. The dominant feature - a television in a corner. A door
opens and JACK enters - carrying a sizeable box. He lays the box down and begins to open
it. He has a smile of satisfaction - as he begins extracting items from the box.
Noting the items emerging from the box - which JACK lays out on the floor. A telescoped
tripod; a video camera and an assortment of cables.
2 CLOSE-UP
JACK reading an instruction manual for the camera. Smiles - satisfied - and lays it down.
3 MED/ WIDE
JACK opening-up the telescopic tripod - locking the legs and mounting the camera on top.
4 WIDE
JACK wandering with cable from tripod/camera to television - connecting at back.
5 MED/ WIDE
JACK panning camera round room - seeing image appear on the television screen.
Then looking at the window beside him - and titling the camera onto the street below.
6 JACK’S POV LOOKING OUT WINDOW
See a woman and child walking by.
7 CLOSE-UP
Shot from behind JACK as he looks out the window - noticing the red ‘camera on’ light.
8 MED / CLOSE-UP
JACK looking round from window.

The television screen - as the woman and child are displayed - walking.

A Short Film Without Words

(Brief Synopsis)
HARRY’S peace is disturbed by party-going neighbours. He takes matters in hand-
and magically his wish comes true. The film explores time and belief suspension- a stop-frame dissection of action and sound as Harry learns the truth of the old adage about being careful of what you wish?

ALL INTERIORS NIGHT

FADE IN

CALLUM’S FLAT- (Callum- slow, aged, grumpy)

CALLUM standing by his window looking over the city- a
horizon of lights- a cacophony of sounds(car horns,
screeching brakes, shouts, sirens blaring- etc.)
He pulls the window closed– immediately killing the
street sounds- left with light orchestral music in the
room. He closes the blinds and moves to the fireplace.

CL-UP- an old-fashioned radio. PULL BACK- see the radio
set on a small coffee-table beside an easy chair. An open
book lies beside the radio- and a framed photograph.

Callum lifts the book and settles into the easy chair.
He turns the volume lower on the radio- relaxes into the chair- begins reading.

Pan- the flat- the only sound the radio low in the b/ground and page-turning.

Cue- thumping footsteps;- (Off).

Callum- a puzzled/angry look on his face. He listens a moment- as the footsteps continue past his door and up the stair- gradually fading- leaving only the low radio sound again.

Callum- relaxed again with the book open.

Cue-(Off) thumping footsteps- voices, laughing/shouting.
CALLUM- (angry)-lays the book down- heads to the door.



THE LANDING

A door opening- Callum emerging- looking angry as a number of teenagers pass him- laughing and loud- carrying bags of booze. They head on up the next flight of stairs.

Callum- watching the youngsters go up. Steps-out- looks over the banister- looking down- seeing more young people heading up the stair.

Callum- raging- returns to his flat- slams the door.


CALLUM’S FLAT

Callum- heading over to his radio- turning the volume up – drowning the noise of the people heading up the stairs.

Callum- sitting stiffly in the chair- as the radio plays.
He turns the volume of the radio down again to low and listens intently for external sounds.
(Beat)- Only sound is the radio.
A small smile lights his face as he relaxes.

Callum lifts the book and returns to reading.

CL-UP- a page being slowly turned- the crisp creasing
sound audible above the low, background radio music.

Cue- sudden blast of techno music.(Off)

Callum- looking up to the ceiling- he techno music is
almost visible- the vibrations and dancing feet appearing
to shake the ceiling.

Callum- throwing the book to the floor- getting out the chair and heading to the door.


THE STAIRS

Callum- emerging from his flat and heading up the stairs.
He looks as if steam is ready to blow from his ears!

Cue-Techno music blaring- gradually getting louder.-(Off)

Callum- on the landing above- an open door with people
standing around, drinking and talking/laughing.




THE TECHNO FLAT

Callum- barging past bodies and into the flat.

WIDE-SHOT- the techno flat- lights flashing with the music- lots of people dancing- talking- drinking- etc.

Callum- pushing past people- his eyes searching- finally fixing on the other side of the room.

M/SHOT- two people talking and drinking(voices unheard by the music). GEORGE(techno-flat resident)waves across.

George’s POV- Callum heading towards him- pushing past people.


George disengaging himself from the person- grabs a bottle of beer and- smiling- holds it out to Callum

Callum- faces George- dismisses the offered beer and begins ranting at George- unheard due to music.

George- smiling/shrugging- palms upwards‘what can I do?’

Callum- turning from George- barging past people.

George- shrugging- returning to talk with his companion,
glancing back again in the direction Callum headed.

CL-UP- George- his face astonished/shocked/ angry.

George- heading after Callum- realising he is heading for
the stereo- not the door!

George- mouthing shouts/swearing- trying to close on
Callum.

Callum- next the stereo- looking at it in wonder-
watching the v/u flashing lights and digital indicators.
He begins pressing buttons.

George- barging by people- trying to get to Callum.

George- a few yards from Callum- waving his hands fanatically and shouting(unheard by music) at Callum.

Callum- pressing buttons on the stereo- the music
stopping.


M/SHOT- seeing everyone around Callum frozen in their last action- dancing statues- people with drinks half to their mouths- a couple in mid-kissing- George with mouth wide open in a frozen scream; his body stiff, reaching towards Callum.

Callum- looking round the room, scanning.

Callum’s POV- everyone frozen in a variety of poses.

Callum- smiling- begins to thread past the ‘statue’ bodies to the door.

Callum’s POV- the door barred by a frozen figure who was
about to enter the room- his body stuck halfway in the
doorway.

Callum- smile gone from his face.
(Beat)- a slight shrug- and a smile again.

Callum- easing his way back past the ‘statues’ to the stereo.

Callum- studying the stereo- pointing a finger next a button.

Callum’s POV- surveying the room of ‘statues’- ending on the frozen body of George- his face a stone mask of rage - his arms reaching.

Callum- finger poised at the stereo button- pressing.

M/SHOT- music resumes- all bodies resume their actions.

George- a yard from Callum- swinging a punch.

Callum- looking towards the doorway.

Callum’s POV- (ZOOM-IN-ON)- the doorway- the person blocking moves into the room.

George- fist about to connect with Callum’s face.

CL-UP- Callum’s finger pressing the stereo button-
stopping the music.

Callum- smiling at George- now frozen again- his fist an
inch from Callum’s face.

Callum- smiling- threads again through the frozen bodies
- all slightly moved in position.

Callum’s POV- to doorway- his exit clear.
Callum- exits the flat.

THE STAIRS

Callum- heading down the stairs- a grin on his face.
(We gradually become aware of the
faint sounds from CALLUM’S radio)


CALLUM’S FLAT -(Radio playing b/ground)-

Callum- entering his flat- smiling wide- heads to the chair.

Callum- sitting in the chair- smug satisfaction.
Leans over– touches the framed photograph- swallows.
Reaches down and retrieves the book from the floor.
While lifting the book- accidentally catches the flex of
the radio- tugs hard.

CL-UP- the electric flex pulling a plug from the wall-socket- ceasing the radio music.

Callum- bent forward in a frozen pose- the open book held
in his hand awkwardly- his mouth agape- eyes in an open stare- frozen in mid-action.
The book falls in to the floor- the pages turn in slo-mo
as it closes. (Title of book- whatever?)

TRACK- slowly retreating from the ‘statue’ figure of Callum- rest on the blinds- slatted daylight easing into the room.

FADE TO BLACK.

JACK panning camera round room - seeing image appear on the television screen.
Then looking at the window beside him - and titling the camera onto the street below.

Shot from behind JACK as he looks out the window - noticing the red ‘camera on’ light.

JACK looking round from window.

The television screen - as the woman and child are displayed - walking.

JACK’S face - satisfied smile.
11 MED/ WIDE
JACK moving tripod/ camera to one side of the room. Placing a straight-back chair next the
wall on the opposite side of the room. Returning to the camera - lining up.

The television screen - displaying the chair against the wall.
13 MED/ CLOSE-UP
JACK looking through lens - smiling and pressing the ‘on’ button.
14 MED/ WIDE SHOT
JACK hurrying from the camera to the chair - sitting down - smiling at camera.

Television screen - with JACK sitting in chair - smiling.

JACK on screen - now looking concerned.

JACK shouting(unheard) and knocking on inside of television screen.

A Short Film Without Words

(Brief Synopsis)
HARRY’S peace is disturbed by party-going neighbours. He takes matters in hand-
and magically his wish comes true. The film explores time and belief suspension- a stop-frame dissection of action and sound as Harry learns the truth of the old adage about being careful of what you wish?

ALL INTERIORS NIGHT

FADE IN

CALLUM’S FLAT- (Callum- slow, aged, grumpy)

CALLUM standing by his window looking over the city- a
horizon of lights- a cacophony of sounds(car horns,
screeching brakes, shouts, sirens blaring- etc.)
He pulls the window closed– immediately killing the
street sounds- left with light orchestral music in the
room. He closes the blinds and moves to the fireplace.

CL-UP- an old-fashioned radio. PULL BACK- see the radio
set on a small coffee-table beside an easy chair. An open
book lies beside the radio- and a framed photograph.

Callum lifts the book and settles into the easy chair.
He turns the volume lower on the radio- relaxes into the chair- begins reading.

Pan- the flat- the only sound the radio low in the b/ground and page-turning.

Cue- thumping footsteps;- (Off).

Callum- a puzzled/angry look on his face. He listens a moment- as the footsteps continue past his door and up the stair- gradually fading- leaving only the low radio sound again.

Callum- relaxed again with the book open.

Cue-(Off) thumping footsteps- voices, laughing/shouting.
CALLUM- (angry)-lays the book down- heads to the door.



THE LANDING

A door opening- Callum emerging- looking angry as a number of teenagers pass him- laughing and loud- carrying bags of booze. They head on up the next flight of stairs.

Callum- watching the youngsters go up. Steps-out- looks over the banister- looking down- seeing more young people heading up the stair.

Callum- raging- returns to his flat- slams the door.


CALLUM’S FLAT

Callum- heading over to his radio- turning the volume up – drowning the noise of the people heading up the stairs.

Callum- sitting stiffly in the chair- as the radio plays.
He turns the volume of the radio down again to low and listens intently for external sounds.
(Beat)- Only sound is the radio.
A small smile lights his face as he relaxes.

Callum lifts the book and returns to reading.

CL-UP- a page being slowly turned- the crisp creasing
sound audible above the low, background radio music.

Cue- sudden blast of techno music.(Off)

Callum- looking up to the ceiling- he techno music is
almost visible- the vibrations and dancing feet appearing
to shake the ceiling.

Callum- throwing the book to the floor- getting out the chair and heading to the door.


THE STAIRS

Callum- emerging from his flat and heading up the stairs.
He looks as if steam is ready to blow from his ears!

Cue-Techno music blaring- gradually getting louder.-(Off)

Callum- on the landing above- an open door with people
standing around, drinking and talking/laughing.




THE TECHNO FLAT

Callum- barging past bodies and into the flat.

WIDE-SHOT- the techno flat- lights flashing with the music- lots of people dancing- talking- drinking- etc.

Callum- pushing past people- his eyes searching- finally fixing on the other side of the room.

M/SHOT- two people talking and drinking(voices unheard by the music). GEORGE(techno-flat resident)waves across.

George’s POV- Callum heading towards him- pushing past people.


George disengaging himself from the person- grabs a bottle of beer and- smiling- holds it out to Callum

Callum- faces George- dismisses the offered beer and begins ranting at George- unheard due to music.

George- smiling/shrugging- palms upwards‘what can I do?’

Callum- turning from George- barging past people.

George- shrugging- returning to talk with his companion,
glancing back again in the direction Callum headed.

CL-UP- George- his face astonished/shocked/ angry.

George- heading after Callum- realising he is heading for
the stereo- not the door!

George- mouthing shouts/swearing- trying to close on
Callum.

Callum- next the stereo- looking at it in wonder-
watching the v/u flashing lights and digital indicators.
He begins pressing buttons.

George- barging by people- trying to get to Callum.

George- a few yards from Callum- waving his hands fanatically and shouting(unheard by music) at Callum.

Callum- pressing buttons on the stereo- the music
stopping.


M/SHOT- seeing everyone around Callum frozen in their last action- dancing statues- people with drinks half to their mouths- a couple in mid-kissing- George with mouth wide open in a frozen scream; his body stiff, reaching towards Callum.

Callum- looking round the room, scanning.

Callum’s POV- everyone frozen in a variety of poses.

Callum- smiling- begins to thread past the ‘statue’ bodies to the door.

Callum’s POV- the door barred by a frozen figure who was
about to enter the room- his body stuck halfway in the
doorway.

Callum- smile gone from his face.
(Beat)- a slight shrug- and a smile again.

Callum- easing his way back past the ‘statues’ to the stereo.

Callum- studying the stereo- pointing a finger next a button.

Callum’s POV- surveying the room of ‘statues’- ending on the frozen body of George- his face a stone mask of rage - his arms reaching.

Callum- finger poised at the stereo button- pressing.

M/SHOT- music resumes- all bodies resume their actions.

George- a yard from Callum- swinging a punch.

Callum- looking towards the doorway.

Callum’s POV- (ZOOM-IN-ON)- the doorway- the person blocking moves into the room.

George- fist about to connect with Callum’s face.

CL-UP- Callum’s finger pressing the stereo button-
stopping the music.

Callum- smiling at George- now frozen again- his fist an
inch from Callum’s face.

Callum- smiling- threads again through the frozen bodies
- all slightly moved in position.

Callum’s POV- to doorway- his exit clear.
Callum- exits the flat.

THE STAIRS

Callum- heading down the stairs- a grin on his face.
(We gradually become aware of the
faint sounds from CALLUM’S radio)


CALLUM’S FLAT -(Radio playing b/ground)-

Callum- entering his flat- smiling wide- heads to the chair.

Callum- sitting in the chair- smug satisfaction.
Leans over– touches the framed photograph- swallows.
Reaches down and retrieves the book from the floor.
While lifting the book- accidentally catches the flex of
the radio- tugs hard.

CL-UP- the electric flex pulling a plug from the wall-socket- ceasing the radio music.

Callum- bent forward in a frozen pose- the open book held
in his hand awkwardly- his mouth agape- eyes in an open stare- frozen in mid-action.
The book falls in to the floor- the pages turn in slo-mo
as it closes. (Title of book- whatever?)

TRACK- slowly retreating from the ‘statue’ figure of Callum- rest on the blinds- slatted daylight easing into the room.

FADE TO BLACK.
