Any suggestion on proper compression for Youtube? I get a lot of artifacts in my videos when I upload them there but they are fine on my mac and Vimeo. I am shooting in 720p and using h.264 compression with the settings recommended by Vimeo.

I don't believe I can. Currently only have After Effects and Adobe Premiere. Both CS5.5.

That is great news! Apple Pro Res is the new standard if you want to submit a movie to distribution companies, good for you!

I've also noticed that YouTube KILLS audio. It takes my music and squashes into a flat, sad nearly-mono track. This is why I'm trying to veer away from them..

Yes I was using H.264 and .Mov compressed to h.264 instead of jpeg before. Neither worked well with the dark footage of my video.

I have also noticed that YouTube just kind of makes your video suck. I always point people to my movie on Vimeo, but have it on YouTube just in case I catch some passing traffic somehow since there are so many people using YouTube.
