A Vancouver-based horror film set to shoot in the fall is looking to fill its budget of $20,000-$25,000 by the following means at this time:

1) $1000 investments - You put it $1000 and you will be granted in writing a 200% return on your investment within a year from the time of release. It's a quick way to make a few extra bucks with little risk. (Investments of $5000 or greater will be granted a higher ROI% and an exec producer credit)

2) $100 donations - You put in $100 and you will be given a special credit in the film along with some promotional materials once the film is completed. Call it a good deed for the indie film community.

Should the film not reach the full budget amount by the shoot date (TBA), any and all of your funds will be returned in full.

If you would like more information or to discuss an investment or donation, feel free to get in touch. The film will be shot in the Vancouver area by a local company. horrorinvest (at) gmail (dot) com or PM me.

Well, sounds quite interesting!
Thanks for sharing, shadowman! I'd rather give 100 $ donation, at least that I can do!

Thanks, Opal! Any and all donations of $100 are taken seriously. And, as I mentioned, if we don't hit the $20,000 mark by November, you'll get your money back. PM me for an address and/or further info. I'm happy to field any questions before you hand over your hard-earned money.

How can you guarantee a %200 return on a $1,000 investment? Do you have a distributor agreement?

I think it says granted 200% return.

Felix,

Nick is correct. I mentioned that I will grant the 200% return in writing - not guarantee it. No investment can ever be guaranteed a return or else it would be a loan with interest. In this scenario however, the odds are much greater that you could put down $1000 and net $2000 (there's the 200% ROI) in a reasonable amount of time (8 to 12 months from release, at latest) even with a bottom-of-the-barrel distribution deal. Our deal won't make you rich, but as I mentioned in the original post, it's a generally low-risk way of making a few extra grand against your $1000.

;-)
