Hello!

I am not a professional moviemaker, although I have been using Sony Vegas for some years. Me and my friends desided that we wanted to make a more professional looking video for the game we play together each summer, counter-strike 1.6.

It will include good slow-motion, and other effects like maybe a 3D bullet etc, advanced stuff for me, but probably not for you guys. The inspiration for our movie is the famous CPL Winter 2005 movie by Pava: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snx00Rwb6_Q

This movie is in my opinion especially great because it does not use too many special effects, and the timing in it is great.

But I wonder how they make the slow motion video and sound at 2.55. Do they do it in Sony Vegas, and how?

I also would like some help to create a 3D bullet (like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ut8DFpdzRqs), so if anyone could help me with that, it would be great. I will of course pay for it.

Best regards!

The bullet is modeled in an animation program, it looks like cinema 4d, but I'm sure there are tuts for how to do it in Blender, a free 3d program. You said you want to add the bullet into video game footage?

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, I would like to have a bullet effect from a video clip I have from the game, just the same as in the video at 3.20 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0QXjS11ECM

Or something similar :)

I don't really know what goes into recording videogames, but you need the person shooting the gun in slow motion, and then a pan of the environment around them. Then you can add in a 3d bullet based on the motion of the pan with reflections of the location it is being shot in.

Yes, I have recorded the clip, with 200 fps pr second. What do you mean with pan? Can I do this in Adobe After Effects?

Also, my question in the first post, how can I create that slow motion at 2.55: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snx00Rwb6_Q

Can this be done in Vegas only, or do I need an external sound mix program or something?

By the pan I meant the sort of fly-through of the environment. Adding the bullet in After Effects would be possible in CC or if you have earlier versions with the plug in Element 3d.

For slow motion, I don't know vegas, but in After Effects it is called time remapping. You want to playback your 200fps footage at 24fps, and that will slow it down.
