Youtube's producers may be getting views, but most of them aren't getting a lot of money. (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/industry-news/marketing/the-youtube-reality-big-audience-small-reward/article13171941/) But that's also true for film producers, most of whom must be prepared to lose money. So Youtube may not have panned out for now, but it's not worse than film. Or TV.

That said, Hulu is beginning to eat into Youtube, which means, one way or the other, internet entertainment is here to stay.

Very interesting. I wonder what the future of YouTube is? Will it go out of style, be just for people posting videos for family and friends, or will YouTube change something, like adding pay subscriptions, and come back and take over other entertainment?

Combine the two = Netflix/Love Film. There seems to be an evolution of distribution

Youtube is not the most user-friendly site in the world, so, yes, it will go by the wayside one day.
