Does anyone have any outlets for free blood splatter effects for after effects cs6? Thanks.

VideoBlocks.com (http://videoblocks.com) has some nice stuff for blood hits and a whole lot of other stuff. They offer a 7-day trial where you can download a ton of stuff without being charged -- you just need to sign up with a credit card, and make sure to cancel before the trial period ends.

I got some from www.detonationfilms.com (http://www.detonationfilms.com) a few years ago.

They have free stuff and stuff you can buy, if I'm not mistaken.

Explosions, blood spurts, etc.

Hmm, I know there was a site that was selling 2 to 5 second blood spatter shots, I will look into it for you

Just a thought but have you considered practical effects? I am not sure of the type of shot you want to do but you wouldn't need much to make one. We use a small water rocket pump, fake blood and 1/4 " tubing to do our blood effects. It is quite effective. As for the topic of free ones try searching Youtube there are usually free ones there.

No problem! I think they offer up to 20 downloads per day. If you have a paid subscription, that limit is lifted, but you can still get 140 clips for free. Not too shabby!

Probably a cheap way to do it is use white paint against a black background. Splatter the black background with white paint then in After Effects, if you have it, change the white to red :)

I have a videoblocks account and didn't find any blood spurts there.

Maybe I didn't use the right combo keywords?

If anyone sees any there, lemme know.

Hmm, on second thought, I may have confused VideoBlocks' splatter library with another resource. Still, looking through the site there's still a couple things for splats (maybe not spurts). You've probably seen everything already, but a search for just "blood" brings up a few things.

A better place would be to check out "The Tutorial Brothers" on YouTube. They post VFX samples on their channel page, with download links to packs of resources in higher quality (quick note: on second look, I can't seem to find these download links anymore, but you can still download a fairly high quality version of the YouTube video itself by using a site like KeepVid).

I have also gotten some free stuff from Detonation films.
