Oh okay. Well in The Usual Suspects, all the lines you hear in the voice over flashback were said before in the interrogation. But if I have voice over lines, that were not said before, in order to keep the surprise a surprise, would that be distracting to an audience, if they have not heard this conversation before, and it's done as a voice over flashback to...

I'm not a real fan of that, but I think it's a matter of taste. If you do decide to go that route, I think you'll need to establish the v.o. earlier so that it fits in.

Oh I just meant to show no visual flashbacks at all, and after the audience finds out who the villain is, the audience is going to want an explanation as to why this character is the culprit and what was in it for them. But instead of providing a visual flashback, I thought maybe I should just do an audio flashback only and just voice over only to explain the...

In 2025, it will only take 15 minutes to recharge your car. In these circumstances, what would you do with those 15 minutes to recharge yourself while you recharge your car? Send in your pitches for a 3 to 5 minute original short film that tells the story about a future where you have 15 minutes to yourself to do whatever you want while you wait for your car...

Keep it brief - just a few sentences. Don't attack anyone, even without naming them. If you are looking for someone to work with you, include your email address and/or tell people to DM you for more info. Avoid having to repeat yourself by having a pdf ready to send to anyone who expresses interest. My inbox is now clear.

I put up a post which was a 15 sentence post about needing a documentary filmmaker for a project, telling a 6 year story in those brief sentences. My post was deleted and I asked for clarification about how to specifically word the post so it would not be deleted. I was told to “keep it short.” The moderators inbox is full so I cannot ask for more...

I did this same thing in 2011 but dressed up like a Big Foot and started hopping concert gates to get interviews with celebrities. It was ten months before Cartoon Network's Adult Swim contacted me and solicited a pilot, after they heard of what we were doing. That project started my entire career.

I'm delighted that my feature Surviving Family starring Billy Magnussen is now available worldwide on Vimeo on Demand. It's also available in the US, the UK, Canada, and Germany on Amazon Prime, but I'm glad to break out beyond those borders. Check it out at the link below:

First, welcome to Filmmaker Forum! Second, yes it sounds like you should be credited as a producer. If you look at the scrolling credits of recent movies, there are often many (many) producers, and it seems reasonable that you should have such a credit. Third, if possible you should negotiate these things in advance. Fourth, there's nothing to prevent...

Hey all, I've got a weird one and I'm very new to all of this. I work for a 501(c)(3) arts institution that has commissioned a piece of video art from an artist. I work for the curator who commissioned the film so I have been the contact person. This is a SAG production and for legal reasons the producer is listed as the institution, with the executive...

First, figure out where you're posting it - local newspaper? Actors Access? Craig's List? Briefly describe each actor that you're looking for - gender, age, physical attributes if relevant, etc. Brief idea of the story/type of movie. Indicate pay if any, or at least copy and credit. Date(s) you're planning to shoot. Audition dates. Your contact information to...

Thank you both very much! And I appreciate the comments about my video Marks! And yeah, tbh the reason I chose the song that I did was because it's about, well, a photograph and in my mind used it as a metaphor for video/film being photographs in motion. But "One Day at a Time" could have definitely worked as well.

Well, I really love the sense of *friendly* desolation that hangs over the video. ... ... ... Although Def Leppard's "Photograph" seems to match the plot,... ... I suggest you use Lynyrd Skynyrd's "One Day At A Time". ... ... ... ...

You know how some areas will list the worst/darkest villains in a series (like with Stephen King villains Randall Flagg, It/Pennywise, Annie Wilkins, Kurt Barlow; and with Game of Thornes villains Ramsay Bolton, Gregor Clegane, Theon Greyjoy, Joffrey Baratheon, Rorge, Euron Greyjoy are considered the worst) which villains from Walker, Texas Ranger would you...
