    Update: March 30th 2013
This is fraud/scam status. I am interested to hear when the lawsuit happens to pay people their money back, that for sure.

    ---- Virool Review ----
    start

A random video I had made just for Virool (1-2 minutes to load)

NOTE: I will Pay $10 to this "Virool" and test it out so YOU don't have too! (Only here on FilmmakerForum.org)

Ok, so I was on YouTube tonight and I saw this AD about Virool - Virool is a website that offers video views for you YouTube videos. They claim to be the cheapest why to get views for your videos. I thought two things right away when I saw this AD, well three -

#1 - The Youtube AD was great, It grabbed my attention and its was really funny.
#2 - This could be a great source for filmmakers
    #3 - This could be a scam....

    Well, maybe 4 things

#4 - This could be offering fake video views!

So as usual I was thinking of my fellow filmmakers here on this forum and I thought what if they saw this video AD too? What if it was a scam or if it was real? I wouldn't want everyone to get screwed by paying this company money!

So I was thinking, I will do a $10 test and review this site and find out if they are offering REAL video views for cheap, or if they are offering FAKE video views for cheap... *You want real video views by the way ;) * - There are many companies out there that offer fake youtube views, and fake twitter followers, and fake facebook likes, anything you can think! So I did some research and the only thing I could find on this Virool video view company was possibly some fake news releases they they posted on some other sites. I don't know so don't quote me on that. So I looking in my video manager on YouTube and I could not find a video that would fit this little journey, so I decided to create a stupid video and test it out.

With this review on Virool, I will give you all the information that I receive starting with the video views all the way to the analytics I receive from my youtube channel, which will tell me where my views are coming from.

    Lets start this review!!!

[UPDATE Virool Review] 6:30pm March 8th 2013 Selected the video of my choosing

[UPDATE Virool Review] 7:20pm March 8th 2013 I have paid $10 to this company

[UPDATE Virool Review] 8:29pm March 8th 2013 I have received another email -

[UPDATE Virool Review] 8:34pm March 8th 2013 Ok so I make a payment to this company seconds later I get this email -

    Dear Virool Advertiser,

    WTF

After digging in more, it appears they spent my $10 already on getting this video views. I go to look and the video and still NOTHING!

Maybe some things need time, so I will be updating tomorrow morning to see if anything has changed. If not, im reporting PayPal on there [at]ss's

[UPDATE Virool Review] 9:54pm March 9th 2013 Ok so I check the video I had paid for last night, and it had 145 more views, and thats what you will get for $10 - So its save to say that this is not a Viral video company as they market themselves to be, it is save to say that this is a Viral Company that charges you more then advertising on Youtube would. I was able to get video views for 4 cents on youtube (and I know the people were real) and with Virool Video it seems to cost around 7 to 10 cents. This company can easily be a joke, but the fact is they are raking in the money from all the people desperate for youtube views. There is nothing special about Virool.com - If you want video views, it will cost you thousands upon thousands of dollars, possibly millions to get a Viral Virool Video!

Smart Idea for the Creators of the company, I have no doubt in my mind they they are making lots of money off of lots of people that are not satisfied with their company. I also feel you won't see much negative stuff about them because I think people are embarrassed to say they were try get more video view because they couldn't by them selves, which is dumb because you should be, it a hard thing to do nowadays.

ANYWAY! This concludes my review on Virool and they get a thumbs down from me.

You can see their amazing - (I mean amazing! Its a really great video) below:

    Great video - Terrible Company

[UPDATE Virool Review] 3:54pm March 11th 2013 - What do you know! A few days after I using a fresh email JUST for the Virool Review I get this email spam advertisement! See image below:

Virool Review - A Review On Their Service

After a few days of this review, I received their newsletter asking me to add $1000 to my account to get a 100% match for a limited time. - This is sad, because in the email they are showing off all these big sites that have an article about them, and many people don't realize that these are just standard press releases and you can get your site on Forbes as well for the right amount of money. Anyway here is the contents of the email.

    Hi Nick

Well, I saw this ad about 3 months ago but I never tried it, and from the looks of your results, I don't think I will.

However I did find something that is very cheap, and it works. It's called SubPals. Here's the link: Get More YouTube Subscribers | Free YouTube Subscribers

The cost is $10 per month, and it gets you about 20 new subscribers to your channel everyday.

I have had my YouTube channel for 7 years. And just two and a half months ago I had a total of 18 measly subscribers. I now hove over 1,300. And these new subscribers will watch some of your videos if it interests them. I have noticed my hit counts going up as I get more subscribers.

Out of all the things I have tried, that is working the best.

There is one other that is free, and it does work, but you have to put a lot of time into it. It's called FanTraffic, here's the link: Fantrafftic - Buy YouTube Subscribers and Twitter Followers and Gain Facebook Likes

I did that for a while but I just don't have the time to put into it as you have to manually subscribe to other channels. The Subpals runs on automatic, so you don't have to do anything.

One word of caution though. Once someone subscribes to your channel, supposedly you're not allowed to delete them unless they become abusive, a problem I've never encountered.

I saw this ad a while ago. This Virool company doesn't disclose the sites they "market" to because they are all fake and they pay people NOT interested in your video to click, view, and sometimes like... They have a system, and its a total fraud. You would think that they would be more careful with this stuff, its very easy to get sued nowadays. But yea, there AD video was amazing

How do you know that the subscribers are real? And, how do they get them to see and subscribe to your youtube??

Paul. All the subscribers are real. They are doing the same thing I am, trying to get subscribers.

And speaking of which. I just recently read that in submitting a film package to an agent, financier, producer, or whatever, within your business plan, they now want to see the number of followers, friends or subscribers you have on FaceBook. YouTube, Twitter, especially if your trying to raise money for a film project. Just an FYI

Dude, they are the biggest joke ever! They even went as far as making a video like they did, and creating a Facebook page with tons of pictures. This will be in the news soon about how they are getting shut down, just watch...

Thumbs down My experience with Virool

I have been a publisher with Virool for a long time. Was quite happy with the prompt payments. My usual payments were $1000-1500 every month. Now suddenly they have stopped entertaining my payment requests and are ignoring my support tickets and direct mails. They owe me a considerable amount. I am sure I am not the only one. Just do a google for these fraudsters and you will see hundreds of complaints.

I don't really care about the money I lost (I am considering it lost). I wish to file a criminal lawsuit (cheat / fraud) against these people whatever it takes. I am not a US citizen and looking for some help in this regard. Someone please guide me in the right direction. Please note again that I am not a US citizen; but will fly if I have to.

    Exclamation Virool Response

Virool achieved a number of impressive feats over the last 12 months:

    1. Today, we have over 35,000 customers, who have promoted over 100,000 video campaigns. Those customers include well known brands as: Sony, Intel, Volvo, Clorox, Samsung, PlayStation 4, Disney and even
    Snoop Dogg (Lion).

    2. We raised $6.6M seed round (largest in Y-Combinator history) from investors: Troy Carter (Lady Gaga’s manager), Paul Buchheit (creator Gmail, AdSense), Alexis Ohanian (co-founder, Reddit), Yuri Milner (investor in Facebook, Groupon, Yelp, Twitter), Dave McClure (500 Startups), Zod Nazem (CTO, Yahoo) and others.

    3. We have been featured in following publications: Forbes, TechCrunch, VentureBeat, The Next Best Web, Entrepreneur Magazine, Huffington Post, Mashable and others.

    4. Our Viral Video has gotten over 5.5M views

Despite our achievements, we are still a startup and at times we experienced some challenges due to our rapid growth. However, we take full responsibility for not meeting someone's expectations and not delivering on what we promised.

Our #1 Goal is to make sure we exceed our customer's expectations and over-deliver on those expectations every time.

As such, we are introducing Virool 100% Money Back Guarantee Policy.

This policy will assure that if a client for any reason feels like their expectations weren't met, then Virool would refund the money same day. Virool would incur the cost of placing the videos and advertiser would have an upside of receiving free promotion. However, we are introducing this program because we firmly believe that our customers are our biggest asset, our biggest competitive advantage and without them we wouldn't be here today.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can always reach us on 415-735-5560, or e-mail us on support(at)virool.com. We are available 9 am - 8 pm PST, Monday - Friday.

I am co-founder and CEO of Virool. I am extremely proud of the product my team has built and the fact that we have helped over 35,000 of our customers successfully launch over 100,000 video campaigns to date. We have promoted videos for renowned brands such as: Sony, Intel, Volvo, Clorox, Samsung, PlayStation 4, Disney and even Snoop Dogg (Lion). We also raised $6.6M seed round from: Troy Carter (Lady Gaga’s manager), Paul Buchheit (creator Gmail, AdSense), Alexis Ohanian (co-founder, Reddit), Yuri Milner (investor in Facebook, Groupon, Yelp, Twitter), Dave McClure (500 Startups), Zod Nazem (CTO, Yahoo) and others.

Despite our achievements, we are still a startup and at times we had hiccups happen. When mistakes happen, we are the first to admit our fault and do everything to set things straight.

As such, I would like to introduce Virool 100% Money Back Guarantee Policy.

If any client is not happy with their results for any reason (placements, didn’t meet expectations, etc.), Virool will refund their entire deposit. We would incur the cost of placing the video among our publishers and advertiser would essentially get free promotion for their video(s). As a company, we strive to deliver the best customer service and build long-term relationship with every customer. We strive to be 100% transparent, honest and accessible. We believe in exceeding expectations and want to assure that every customer receives best possible experience from working with Virool.

If you have any questions or concerns, you can always reach out to me on alex (at) virool (dot) com. I’ll be more than happy to make sure you will enjoy using Virool!

Well that's great about the refunds, that is a big change.

Have you been working with YouTube latey about accounts getting banned for using Virool?

I appreciate you coming on here, That takes guts. I will consider revising this review to be a little less harsh if you can respond about the YouTube question, thanks again.

    Nick,
That's a great question. A number of our advertisers are promoting YouTube videos and as such we realize that YouTube is a partner that we needed to have on board. Over the last 9 months, we've engaged in conversations with various YouTube executives. We are working close with them on a number of initiatives. Some of them include:

    1. Making sure our network is fully compliant with their Terms of Service and we are no way infringing on their policies. This is a lengthy process by the end of which we will become a fully certified YouTube Partner.

    2. Working closer with their Analytics and Ads APIs - this will improve distribution and analytics for our customers

    3. Working together on marketing initiatives - YouTube's goal is to replace TV and get the ad dollars away from traditional media. Virool's is the same. As such, we are working together on getting big brands to start spending more money on online video content rather than traditional TV ads.

Our goal is to build a long-term business and to be transparent with YouTube about our practices. This approach has helped us avoid pitfalls other companies experienced and we haven't had issues of having clients videos removed as a result of our video promotion tactics.

    Default Virool service review

I joined Virool as publisher. When I requests money withdrawal, my account has been suspended for no reason. I wrote customer service and Vlad replied me that my account is now released. However, I still can't login to my account an withdraw money. They just keep ignoring my letters.

No matter whether you are publisher or advertiser - be aware that they are not quite fair. So think twice before make any deal with them
