Default Looking for a solid feature horror screenplay

I'm looking for a pretty solid horror script to have produced sometime later this year. It needs to have few locations, a limited amount of characters, and nothing too costly to make happen. If I don't find what I'm looking for, I'll probably end up writing on my own or finding a collaborative partner.

I'll take a look at anything horror, but I'd prefer slasher films, particularly in the style of the '74 Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Mutilator. I wanna do something with strong character development and a clever twist ending.
Nick likes this.

Sounds like I have exactly what you're looking for. Let's talk.

ONE MILLION WAYS TO DIE is a psychological thriller/horror in the vein of "Seven" and “Saw” about a psychotic serial killer obsessed with exploring all one million ways to kill those who choose not to appreciate the full beauty of art. Each one of his victims is killed in a fashion that one would construe as original art. An FBI agent who has trouble balancing his family life and his career attempts to end the streak of terror produced by the art obsessed serial killer. A professor, who the killer respects and confides in, aides the authorities in the pursuit of the man but seems to always be one step too slow. Everything is brought to an end by a violent explosion, but little closure is given when it is revealed that a key character ends up having ties to the serial killer they never thought was possible.

Logline: An FBI agent's personal life is in shambles as he is in pursuit of a psycho-path killer who selects his victims according to their lack of appreciation for art.

Default Bullhead

Dear Development Executive:

Please allow me to introduce my sci-fi screenplay entitled Bullhead.

A criminology student searching for the truth behind Dillinger's demise encounters an evil clone of the notorious gangster and a mutant fish in the North Woods of Wisconsin.

In 1932, a UFO from the planet Elcas-1440 lands in northern Wisconsin, turning the sleepy tourist town of Blutkohle Lake into a breeding ground of walking incubators led by Dillinger's clone. Seventy-nine years later, the airwaves are filled with news of President Bennett’s mysterious disappearance while on a fishing trip near Blutkohle Lake. Criminology student Seth Holtz ventures into this haven of unspeakable evil in search of rare film footage of the Elcasians. Unfortunately, he and his friends Melanie and Devon learn the hard way that some legends are meant to stay submerged beneath the dark waters of ignorance.

While Seth listens to a chilling account from his great-uncle of the Dillinger clone’s takeover of the town, Devon and Melanie have their first run-in with the aliens’ ungodly creation: a bullhead the size of a sperm whale. Embedded in the creature's intestines is a device that transports its victims to the alien craft to be cloned. The creature spares them but leaves Melanie with the “sign of the Jonah”, designating her as a future incubator. Finding all means of escape blocked by the Dillinger clone’s army, they wind up at a run-down cabin that once belonged to Seth’s bootlegger great-grandfather.

Devon has another encounter with the bullhead in a grisly late night attack that leaves him severely wounded. In order to pay his hospital bills, his friends attempt to search for a cash-filled strongbox at the bottom of the lake. Their efforts are quickly thwarted by the Dillinger clone’s forces. They find themselves condemned to spend the rest of their lives as breeders for an invading alien army unless they can find a way to destroy the evil inside the bullhead.

Bullhead is inspired by my great-grandmother's vivid tales of growing up in northern Wisconsin during the Depression, when the Dillinger gang and other infamous criminals often hid out in that part of the state. I have a BA in English literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The complete 102.5-page script is available upon request. I thank you for your consideration and I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,

Greg Przywara

THE SNOWMEN:
The macabre and bizarre adventure of twin albino Bounty Hunters, Hadley and Bradley Moon, who stalk the shadowy, mean streets of the city in search of a fiend with a dark heart and a darker soul: Quint the Headhunter, who holds the entire city in his deadly and dangerous grip. The Moons must find the killer before he strikes again, or before the authorities capture them, for the police suspect the albino brothers of the horrendous crimes. The events are very reminiscent of the past, especially for the scarred and tortured Hadley Moon, who could not save the only woman he loved from the hands of the headhunter. And the present grants him the opportunity to atone for his sins and save an innocent girl from the clutches of an insane monster. As the shadows grow ever darker and even more dangerous, and the headhunter stalks and strikes in the night, the showdown leads to a desolate battleground and one last chance to end the evil that has once more entered their lives. As the world cowers in fear...our only hope lies in the fact that: THE MOONS ARE OUT!

Synopsis: The story begins: An old nemesis of Hadley Moon's, a cloaked and sinister figure known as Quint, is once again
invading the city and collecting his macabre and bizarre trophies. It is Quint The Headhunter who is out to
destroy his old adversary: The Snowman--Hadley Moon. First, by involving the bounty hunters in the
investigation of the headless corpses, trying to point the blame for the sinister slayings on the albinos, and then
leading Hadley and Brother Bradley to an evil, terror-filled killing ground known as 'The Cathedral' for one
final conflict and inevitable fight to the death. The first story begins with a murder, followed by an investigation
by the lead detective: Insp.Chandler. Following the bizarre trail of the Headhunter, which leads to The Moons and
one of the victims that has escaped the clutches of Quint, a young model named Niki. Are The Moon rescuers
or part of the deadly hunt for heads. The plot twists and turns until both Hadley and Bradley Moon confront the
evil Quint, rescue the girl, but the Headhunter escapes, with Bradley in pursuit. Hadley Moon stays behind with
the frightened girl, only to be captured by the police and Insp.Chandler. Surrounded...he surrenders to fight
another day.

With Hadley Moon inside a holding cell.
The Police Chief (Andrew Jackson Taylor) wants him charged with the decapitations, but the girl Niki has a
somewhat confusing story to tell. She thinks The Snowmen tried to save her from a third man. A Cloaked
Figure but she cannot be certain. It is Insp.Chandler who wants to further investigate the man the girl recalls as:
Quint. Meanwhile, Bradley Moon has been found half-dead and it is only brother Hadley who can save him.
(There was a vicious battle when Bradley finally caught-up with the evil Quint). Insp.Chandler wants to know
more about Quint, if Hadley tells he will be taken to his injured, dying brother. (A flashback will reveal some
about Quint and also a mysterious woman from the past: Claire). Once the Moons are free, the search for
Quint begins anew as more headless bodies are found in the park. The girl Niki becomes the key to the entire
mystery as Quint prepares to kidnap her under the watchful eye of both the police and The Snowmen.

The Evil Quint continues his evil terror on the mean streets of the city as he
begins to stalk the model Niki. All this as Hadley Moon predicted to the police. She is taken to a safehouse
under police watch. As The Moon search for Quint, along the way having to rescue some young Street Urchins from the clutches of The Headhunter. (Another flashback will reveal more about Hadley Moon - Claire and
Quint). At The safehouse...Quint attacks: Killing one of the policemen and wounding Insp.Chandler, but not before
revealing who he really is and leaving a trail for The Snowmen to follow to try to rescue the girl Niki. Both
Hadley and Bradley Moon accept the challenge to "Meet me in the place where even God fears to tread".

It is a race against time for the life of the young, beautiful girl Niki held captive
by the evil and deadly Quint. Or will it be the lives of the two Snowmen that will hang in the balance. Or will
it finally be the end to the reign of terror and murderous ways of The Headhunter. All in all it will be a fight to
the finish between The Moons and their evil nemesis as they arrive at The Cathedral for the showdown. The story
winds back and forth, past and present, and it tells the Past: The battle between Hadley Moon and Quint for the
woman: Claire. (Fought out in the confines of The Mission House where Hadley first meet the woman). ---
And the Present: The fight between The Moons and The Headhunter for the life of the young
girl Niki. The setting is dark and evil and sinister and the desecrated Cathedral becomes the backdrop for this
final, bizarre battle to the death.

I have a micro/low budget 'found footage' script called The Forest, that is set in Europe and might be a good match for what you are looking for.

Logline

The footage found in the ancient Bialowieza Forest, will be the only evidence of what happened to Jess and her friends, and the only evidence of what the evil in the forest did to them.

Get back to me if you want more details.

Default slasher

Hello,

"ALMOST INVISIBLE" Screenplay by David Allingham (Teen Thriller)
A misfit teenager goes to supernatural extremes to make friends.

This is a teen slasher, but clever. Minimal FX (crossfades on lockdowns, like that), ~ 1 set (the house). The micro-budget, 90 minute, non-union demo was picked up by a WEA affiliate last year. My goal is a union film of it.

ALMOST INVISIBLE. 2011 Honolulu Film Awards, Aloha Accolade Winner, Feature Film; 2010 SoCal Film Market, Full Feature Finalist; 2010 Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood, Award of Merit

E-mail me for a synopsis or script or demo.

Best,
Dave

Title: KATALYNA
Genre: HORROR (Based upon Comic Book)
Author: GARY PETRAS
Budget: Low

Logline/Pitch: With A Dark Heart and a Darker Soul the beautiful but very
deadly vampire: Katalyna stalks the night. The innocent people
of the city are her prey. The only one standing in her way is
the equally as beautiful and as deadly vampire hunter:
Lavender Lace, who just happens to be Katalyna's own flesh
and blood daughter. It is a mother and daughter duo like none
you have ever witnessed before. As one seeks to consume...the
other seeks to destroy.

KATALYNA: (one page synopsis)
For a screenplay based on the comic book
Created and Written By:
Gary Petras

She prowls the night insearch of innocent victims. Her blood lust is
insatiable. Her hunger and thist are unquenchable. No one is safe, no one can
escape the hynotic glance, the evil countenance and the seductive ways of the
vampire: Katalyna. With long, flowing ebony hair and a body and face of a pure
Goddess. She dresses in skin-tight, black leather and very revealing, very sexy
costume. She stalks the shadowy streets insearch of her prey. She seeks to possess, she seeks to feed and she seeks to play. The silky night and all its leathery trappings is her world. And the world is her hunting ground.
Her reign of bloody terror seems unstoppable but there is one who seeks the
Vampire-woman's total destruction. The Vampire-hunter: Lavender Lace. Tall,
statuesque, short blond hair and very beautiful and deadly. Her weapons of choice
are two, modified, 45 automatic revolvers with the symbol of the cross etched into
the tips of the bullets and the bullet casings are filled with Holy Water. She, too,
stalks the shadowy night seeking the Vampire-woman. It is her single-minded
determination and relentless spirit that propels her in her pursuit of Katalyna.
There is one more overpowering reason behind her mission of total destruction.
Lavender Lace is Katalyna's own daughter. And the daughter will not rest until
she has accomplished her mission: To destroy her own mother.
The battles between mother and daughter. Where, in
this instance, a mother's bite is far worse than her bark. And a daughter's love is
very, very deadly.
Blood lust and a hunter's zeal for justice overshadows everything in the lives of
these two beautiful and dangerous women. A dark, erotic and atmospheric tale
about a mother's lust for blood and a daughter's quest for
vengeance. Lavender Lace stakes out a graveyard she
believes to be one of her mother's (Katalyna's) secret lairs. She watches and
waits to trap her and finally bring about the female vampire's destruction. But
from a safe distance Katalyna herself watches and begins to command her evil
minions to pursue and destroy her own daughter. Vampire bats attack - Zombies
(Living dead) attack - a she-wolf ( female werewolf) attacks. Lavender Lace
survives all the deadly attempts on her life. Vowing once again to end the evil
reign of her vampire mother. Katalyna escapes but she, too, vows to corrupt her
own daughter or kill her in the process. Both survive to fight another night.
As the story continues it is Lavender Lace who falls for a
very handsome youngman, a photographer named Christopher Ryan. In his arms
she can forget the trails and tribulations of her life. But their romance is short-lived
as Katalyna seduces the man, making him her slave, and then commands him to
kill her own daughter. Lavender Lace knows all too well that the only way to
break the evil spell is the destruction of her vampire mother. The only other way
to end the evil hold she has on the love of her life is the death of the man himself.
Will he choose to destroy Lavender Lace - can she destroy her mother - or bring
herself to kill the man she loves.

Default Screenplay Query

I have written a horror script called Senior Skip Day. A senior skip day is a day of high school that a group of high school seniors skip so that they can stay out the night before and sleep in the next morning.

Logline: High school seniors have a senior skip day but that night they encounter a werewolf, an event that causes terror and tragedy in their lives.

The script involves seven high school seniors (four girls, three boys) who are outcasts in their high school and decide to have a senior skip day. The night that they stay out late they encounter a werewolf and throughout the night they are stalked by the werewolf. The teenagers seek help but encounter a lot of strange, emotionally distraught adults during the night including one man who claims to have been attacked by a werewolf also. Ultimately, two teenagers survive the tragic ordeal and none of the adults in the town believe their story instead they believe that the two teenagers are the ones responsible for the murders. The conclusion of the story has the two teenagers on the run from the law, an occurence that has the young protagonists do a desperate attempt to hold up a gas station, a tragic event that ends with one of the teenagers killing the cashier and customer inside the store during the robbery.

The seven high school protagonists are thoroughly developed as sympathetic and compassionate characters much like the characters in the great youth films like Rebel Without A Cause, The Wild One, or even The Breakfast Club as all seven of the protagonists behave realistically as platonical best friends unlike the one-dimensional sex-and-drug-crazed teenage characters that exist in most of the modern horror films.

I am still looking to have my first script produced. If you would like me to send the screenplay just e-mail me back. Thank you for your time.

Default Just Die Already-horror/thriller

It has the feel of "The Thing", but with a more zombie style. It is filled with action and thrills, and flavored with a light sense of humor.

Title: Just Die Already-action/horror/thriller/sci-fi

Logline:
It has been here for thousands of years lying dormant, and now that it has been awakened, mankind may soon become extinct.

Synopsis:
A group of Archeologists digging in the jungles of South America discover several unusual humanoid skeletons buried in front of an underground cave. They decide to contact US Government Officials to have experts examine the remains. While further exploring the dig site they find a large dinosaur fossil with most of its bones present. After careful examination they realize that the bite marks on the bones didn’t come from an animal, they came from humans. A Special Forces unit just back from a raid to free several hostages, is ordered to provide assistance to the director of the investigate. When they arrive they are told one of the workers went missing after his guard duty shift. After being told he lives in a nearby village they go looking for the missing worker. They discover blood by the corpses of the aliens and realize that the missing worker may have been accidentally contaminated by cutting himself on a razor sharp rib bone. Being upset over the loss of their hostages to the American soldiers a large group of drug smugglers set out on their way to the dig to get all new hostages and possible steal anything of value that might have been found. They stop at a nearby village because they smell food cooking in the air. They are shocked when they find a head cooking in an open pot in the middle of the village.
Suddenly, the villagers appear out of no where with an uncontrollable hunger. They move quick, taking down several of the drug smugglers to snack on. Nervous, the leader orders them to pull back to their vehicles. The infected villagers are relentless, eating as they go. Only 10 drug smuggles are able to make it to their vehicles, and even fewer make it out of the village alive.
The Special Forces Unit arrives at the same village only an hour later. The smell of someone cooking food still fills the air. This time in the pot is the head of the missing worker. When they remove it, it's eyes open and it's mouth is still craving flesh. A little girls walks out to greet the soldiers and when she is close enough she rips a large piece of flesh from the forearm of one of the soldiers and begins to eat it. More villagers show up when they hear the dinner bell and the soldiers are forced to fire everything they have at them. When the smoke clears only living body parts remain. Under the direction of command they burn the body parts, the only problem is the parts don't want to stay in the fire.
An infected villager is run over when the drug smugglers escape and is stuck to the bottom of the jeep. It slowly eats away the fuel line causing the jeep to run out of gas. The remaining smugglers are forced to run the rest of the way knowing that many of the infected villagers were still running after their jeep. At the dig the scientists look for answers. They had no idea that another species had become infected as well. While looking for answers one of the scientist is bitten by several rats and minutes later he infects the 2nd scientist. As it gets darker more people begin to disappear. The remaining smugglers show up more scared of the infected then they are of the soldiers. That night the creatures attack, taking with them several of their half eaten victims. Slowly one by one the group’s numbers shrink until the group is forced to retreat into the underground caves where that might possibly suffer the same fate as a previous group of people did thousands of years earlier. Their only hope of survival is to figure out how to kill before they become the next meal.

Default Horror script with deep characters

"The Clinic" is about a group of friends searching for a lost little boy who stumble onto a secret government research facility. Dedicated to keeping the country's elite alive and well, the isolation has warped the scientists from creating cures to creating freaks instead.

The script takes place primarily in the woods and in the clinic compound, with a bar interior and a campus exterior thrown in as well. There is complex make-up for the freaks, and some FX, but this could probably be toned down to make-up instead.

The Clinic has a kick-ass young female lead, and nobody in it splits up and goes into the basement alone. You could make it as gory as you want, it's a matter or emphasis.

Default "I Hear Voices" and "Pain Feeders"

my two horror scripts I'm currently shopping -- very little special effects and locations!

I Hear Voices (horror)
by Joe Leone

Logline: A snarky schizophrenic is not actually crazy but haunted by invisible ghosts.

Life has been somewhat frustrating for Vin. Being diagnosed with schizophrenia and locked in a mental institution can do that to a person. Yet Vin's biggest gripe is that he is not actually insane. The voices that he hears are not just in his head, but rather the taunts of unseen ghosts. Evil spirits have been trying to coax Vin to commit vile acts for them for the duration of his life. After innumerable attempts to quell these tormenters, Vin is about ready to throw in the towel. Yet when he receives a visit from his younger sister, the only thing Vin has any love for, everything changes. Alexis has begun to exhibit signs of having the same "gift" as Vin, and Vin becomes determined to stop the voices for once and for all. In his new quest, Vin encounters two very intriguing fellow patients: Delilah, an ethereal beauty who becomes romantically interested in Vin, and Randolf, a wise-cracking Texan who may actually possess the answer to stop the specters. After a trial run, Vin is convinced that Randolf's method works, inspiring him to devise a plan to gain freedom from the institution. For the first time in 28 years, things are going smoothly for Vin. Yet upon Vin's arrival home, things take a traumatic turn for the worse. A spirit so powerful that it can physically move Vin and his sister presents itself. The mystery of this ghost's identity and motives seem linked to something in Delilah's past. Will Vin be able to stop this malevolent force from turning his biggest fear into a reality; driving him and Alexis truly insane?

PAIN FEEDERS (horror)
by Joe Leone

logline: A pretty teen with a troubled past must fight a lethal group who feed on the pain of others.

With a handicapped father and an eight year old brother to care for, life is not so easy for Tasha. Add to that the fact that she is trying to squeeze in college courses around her busy work schedule. When the murder rate in her small town starts to escalate, Tasha takes note. Though it is only when she meets certain individuals in her Psychology class that she starts to see a possible connection. Tasha is curious about a good looking rebel in the class, David, and inquires about him to her new friend Darcia. Darcia tells her to stay away at all costs, as he is extremely dangerous. This only piques Tasha's interest further, and she agrees to go on a date with David. His true nature is exposed, and Tasha barely escapes with her life. The further she digs into this odd group that David is a member of, the more unsettling information she uncovers. These people, who feed off of the pain of regular people, are having their own conflicts; a Blond Haired Man has come into town and is disrupting their normal way of life. He feeds solely on emotional pain and is very brazen in his tactics. The Blond Haired Man is very charming and befriends Tasha. He has a bevy of information on the Pain Feeders and Tasha reluctantly agrees to accept his help. When she finally sees the Blond Haired Man for who he truly is, it may be too late for her, and her entire town. The key to defeating them all lies in Tasha's past...a secret of her own that she must finally find the courage to face if she is to prevail.

Default Horror/Thriller

Chosen to become the stars of a new horror reality show, Bill Franklin and family unknowingly move into a high tech haunted house, and suddenly life becomes more extreme than they ever could have imagined.

EX-SCREAM MAKEOVER

When seventeen year old Emily Franklin sees the ad for a new reality show she jumps at the chance to get her fifteen minutes of television fame and play the ultimate practical joke on her family in the bargain, so while their old house is undergoing a free remodel the family takes up residence in an isolated house complete with hidden cameras and professional horror movie special effects. It’s all in good fun, isn’t it?

But sometimes reality really bites.

Small cast, few locations, minimal f/x's...

I’ve written the scripts:

DARK: A dysfunctional couple goes to a remote lakehouse with their son to work through their problems but are confronted with dark mysterious happenings caused by the nearby woods that has a habit of preying on the inhabitants of the cabin.

PURGATORY: four people wake up in a warehouse. They don't know each other. They can't escape. They don't know how they got there. But when they find a dead body, they know one of them is a killer.

Can I send either to you for your consideration?

JHAR888,
I am not asking to be your collarborative partner, and know you have given a few movie examples to base your story on. That said if you want to let me know what the right side of your brain has visualized so I can create an outline you can shoot me a personal email at:

killampeter[at]yahoo.com

If not I will pitch you my outline anyways.

Warm Regards,

Pete

Default Limited location thriller

Hey there.

I have a limited location suspense-thriller in the vein of THE STRANGERS.

THRESHOLD: Still reeling from a painful divorce, a single mother and her resentful teenage daughter move into a new house, not knowing the previous owner is a psychotic killer secretly living in the basement.

Please let me know if you'd like to read the synopsis and/or script. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Default Horror for you

I've got two horror scripts that might meet your needs.

Hunger - A med student and his bulimic girlfriend accidentally film the onset of a global pandemic that turns those around them into crazed eating machines.

Found footage zombie flick. Two main characters, four supporting. 100% of the movie takes place in an apartment complex. Need makeup for zombies and a few effects when they get shot.

Father's Day - A father and his twelve year old daughter seek revenge on the biker gang that assaulted them six years ago.

Cabin-in-the-woods revenge thriller with an awesome twist. Three mains, five supporting. Biggest cost might be fake blood from knife wounds.

Send me a PM if interested.

I'm proud to announce that the search has ended. I appreciate all the responses.

I'll let you guys know if I'm looking for another screenplay in the future. I guess this thread can be closed now.
