Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I was so excited about editing a feature, that I jumped on it without really talking about price and hours, cause I just wanted the experience of editing a feature for people.

Oh okay, I though we were talking about this audio problem, what's hiring people and readers of my script have to do with this? Also, I've hardly had to edit stereo tracks before, so yes, I'm not experienced in that, since I keep editing with mono so far. Or what am I doing wrong in my communications exactly? Do I not explain enough and need to elaborate...

I'm surprised you say that mono is a pain to deal with in editing, cause I actually find stereo to be pain to deal with in editing, cause if you want the sound to come through one speaker, more than the other, you have to delete one of the channels then. If you have more hissing in mono, compared to stereo it sounds like something is going wrong.

Oh okay that's a good idea. I was hired to be payed by the hour, but things get pretty tricky, cause I will try different things and all, and not sure if that counts. Basically the producer told me to give him all my hours so far, and not sure if playing around with it, to make it the best it can be, counts, especially since I was out out of contact with the...

Basically I am hired to edit a feature for someone, and I will do experimenting... Like I will try editing a scene a few different ways to see which way works best. However, should I charge for experimenting, or how do other editors establish how much should be charged for experimenting, or how much time should be devoted to the experimenting?

For my script basically, a character who you think is good, and think is the main character's ally, turns out to be bad all along. But when my friends read it, they were completely out to lunch and lost and cannot figure out why the ally was bad, or what was motivating her to do this the whole time. I cannot really write what the characters are thinking...

Well a couple of actors are afraid of unintentionally breaking the fourth wall. There is one scene where an actor couldn't look at the camera and looked off point, and as a result, the eye lines did not match. So I was forced to use a master shot take for the entire thing, cause the eye lines did not match in the close ups. Perhaps I just need to show the...

I watched it. I found it to be very inspirational. Thanks for the video! I saw some of Birdemic, mostly the bird attacks scenes that gained notoriety. I think making a movie with birds as the antagonists is just hard to do cause of the special effects.

Okay thanks. But so far getting engineers to do it, hasn't gone well with me. Whenever I do it, the engineer doesn't really make a lot of time to work with me, and they do it on their own and then it's done, with half the sound effects you want, missing. I try to make arrangements on doing it in sections, but they circumvent that and want to rush it fast as...

Yeah but they are on sale... It's just the professional stuff is more costly, and I would like to put my budget towards other movie making things as well... So what is the minimum price I am looking at around or the cheapest monitors? Or do you think maybe it's best to hypothesize as while doing the mixing, and then take the whole movie and the mix to a...

When you use FrameForge to storyboard your scenes to show to your DP, and crew, so they are all on the same page, when it comes to how to shoot and block it, do you show the cast as well, or just the crew? Also when you show it to them, do you show how the whole scene will look with a theoretical edit in mind, cutting from shot to shot as it goes, or do you...

Sorry about that for some reason, the exact page doesn't come when I copy and paste the link. Well the speakers I am talking about are the Logitech Z313, with the subwoofer. Is that good for mixing at all?

For my script, there is a twist in it, where basically a character you think is good, turns out to be bad, and pulling the strings, sort of deal. I thought of some ways to foreshadow it and drop some hints along the way, but I'm kind of wondering if that's the way to go... Cause I could perhaps try to hide it as much as possible and not do any foreshadowing,...

Okay thanks. What about the ones I posted before here: https://www.amazon.ca/s/?ie=UTF8&key...l_1mrx9evzu0_e Are they speakers or near field monitors, or would they be good for the job?

I see, but I don't think that a 4K external recorder will be cheaper, unless I am wrong. The A7s's sensor only has 1080 pixels on it, so wouldn't you need a new sensor, and an external recorder wouldn't do any good?

What about the Sony A7s II. That one shoots 2160p, which is the same as 4K, isn't it?

I am looking for a good pair of speakers to do mixing in, but not sure what is the best for my price. For example there are some 50 watt speakers I saw on sale from logitech, that is the Z313 brand. But is this good for this type of task, for comparing to how a movie will sound on other people's speakers, especially for releasing to film festivals? ...
