Default Which idea should I pursure on limited time for my graduate film? (please, need help!)

Hi everyone, I need to make a 9-10 minute film, it's a pretty open brief with little limitations. My issue is once they'd given me my final submission date (With it being an extension in the first place) I've only had three weeks to make it, I've got roughly just over a week to make it so I need to get a move on, I really need some help because I'm working 10 hours a day with only a Thursday and Sunday off every week.

So with my limited time, resources, money etc. This is going to be a very low budget film. I have a Canon 700D with a standard kit lens, a standard RODE mic to attach to it. A couple of male actors available. Location limited to a couple of houses and my local area. I've got two plausible options to go with.

Option A. We live a 10 second walk from a HUGE dog park, my mum suggested I do some sort of documentary on dog's and the interaction between them which is very vague as a core concept (we also have a labrador) as I'd easily be able to capture footage and get interviews from walkers throughout the day. I figured I could easily get in contact with the many dog training/discipline classes that seem to be around to film the sessions. This idea is very doable, chilled, but because I lack direction with it I'm not very into it.

Option A.2. Me and my friend who's helping me make it love the Mockumentary genre, whilst discussing the original dog documentary idea we had this hilarious idea for 'DOGumentary', Which would be obviously a comedy film exploring the lives of the dogs at the park, my dog Baxter could be the main focus. It could be tricky because we would have to do VO for the animals which I can imagine would be difficult, but we'd essentially follow him around and interacting with other dogs. We'd have to develop a story or basic premise etc. But that would also be difficult because he's the only dog we have full access to, other dogs could only be filmed temporarily and off the cuff without preparation, so they'd be doing typical stuff such as sniffing butts, chasing balls, running etc. However I think this is a highly original idea, I can imagine it being hilarious if executed well.

Option B. Me and my friend got the ball rolling for a stalker type horror film. It suits the resources and it's doable. Here's some ideas we came up with in an hour. We thought it could be from the stalkers perspective, it climaxing in a long and uncomfortable strangle murder scene, opening shot of the film being outside the victims house, we introduce him, we play with character perspective e.g An electrician visits the house, leaves, the camera then follows him for a fraction of the film to entice, tease and play with the audiences grasp of who the film is based around but the stalker is then introduced in a smooth transition e.g. his van drives away in the background and the villain watches, to show degrees of separation from the victim to villain. Or maybe the villain has a short interaction with the electrician (just an example character btw) before switching to his perspective. These were just rough ideas to get the ball rolling.

Guys this is a really stressful time and I have a lot of pressure on me to do this, my graduation relies on it. I'd really appreciate some help, I really really would and I can offer a credit too. Would love to get some feedback on the initial ideas anyway. I think the DOGumentary has the most potential and could be the easiest filming wise, but is a bit more ambitious in other aspects. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Anyway hope to hear back, thanks a lot!

It seems you already made a choice.
Don't wait any longer and get started.
You can give the Dogumentary more body if you put in a 'scientist' who developed a collar to translate what dogs say or even think. :p
But that be adding too much stress. ;)

    3 weeks for your graduation?
Or you already knew, but no deadline was formulated?

I feel like that would work well in a fiction short but not necessarily for the mockumentary I've imagined, I think despite the fact the dogs are communicating with us it needs to be quite realistic lol rather than elements of sci-fi etc. I mean I'm sure it could work I just don't think it fits into my initial vision nor am I capable of executing that. My graduation is in November but this film is due in about a week's time!
