    Greetings,

DISCLAIMER: NONE OF THE PRODUCTS MENTIONED BELOW ARE AFFILIATED WITH US IN ANY WAY, NOR TO THEY PAY US TO ADVERTISE. WE RECOMMEND THESE PRODUCTS SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE WE HAVE USED/USE ALL OF THEM

You have most likely found this page because you are looking for equipment! Trust us, we know there are hundreds of websites out there, that claim they know the best equipment for beginners. The only problem is... most of this equipment is either really expensive, or very poor quality. This article isn't like that, we promise. We know from Personal Experience and have used all of this equipment! This is a rundown of the equipment we recommend beginners and intermediate filmmakers get; (Please note we have put another item next to the one listed, which is considered an upgrade from the basic item.)

    Camera(s):

We recommend you get two cameras, this way, you can use your second (cheaper) one for more dangerous things that you wouldn't want to risk with your other camera.

    Cannon DSLR:
These Cameras are amazing! Our Studio uses two and we love them. You can change the lense to get a cleaner shot, and mount additional equipment on the top of it. While some of the lenses may be expensive the standard free lenses is enough for most people. You can find one of these cameras on Amazon for any where to $330-500. Of course these bundles include your basic equipment as well, SD Cards, Cases, Tripods, and some even Lights. We would recommend buying one of these three, (make sure to look at the extras that come with them)!

As far as the second Camera, we recommend a cheap Sony Camcorder ($100-150 on Amazon)

Ultimately it is your choice with which Camera you get, every camera is different for someone else. If you choose to buy the T6 on it's own chances are you will pay the same price as the bundles we have listed above.

    Tripod:

All the camera bundles we listed above include Tripods, but if you choose not to get one of those, you can pickup one on Amazon for $10-100.

    Microphones:

We like to use a Two Mic setup for our productions, however we understand that may not be realistic for some smaller companies or groups. So you get a choice; either way this will fill all your video needs.

    Option #1

Rode Videomic Go: ($88 on Amazon, Prime: YES) The cheapest mic they offer is $59.
The Rode Videomic Go mounts on top of your Cannon. It features a Shock Mount, Wind shield and it records Pro Audio. If this is to much for you, Rode offers cheaper options which can be found at www.rode.com .

    Option #2

Audio Techina/Boom Mic setup (Microphone is $53, Boom Pole and mounts are typically +$75)

This mic can be mounted on a Cannon as well, with the piece it comes with, but we use it on a boom. This mic does not last very long however, the Rode has a better life span.

    Lighting:

This is a tough one-with so many different kinds of lights on the market, it can get confusing real quick! We use the following, cheap, but good quality lights. *Please note: these lights do not include a stand, you can buy one, or buy a cheap tripod and a nut and mount it on that, it works really well.

If you only want white light we recommend this: LE 10W White Light pack of 3, works really well and provides a great three point lighting setup. Amazon-$30.00 (Link)

IF you need/want color we recommend this-LE 10W RGB Pack of x1, great flood and splash of color.
    Amazon-$15.99 (Link)

If you want brighter you can buy all the above lights in brighter, but they get quite expensive.

    Other Helpful Equipment:

    - A safe way to store equipment: Husky Safe Box (Amazon-$18.95) (Link)

    - Greenscreen/Greenscreen holder: Greenscreen: $20, the holder is currently out of stock, I think we payed about $25 for it. Will update when in stock. These two work well together and really make a good effect. (Greenscreen Link) (Greenscreen Holder Link)

    - Clap/Slate with color sticks: Works Great! Amazon-$10.99 and can be bought here link. The Clapboard is dry erase, a little warning though Expo markers DO NOT work on this board, they will not come off. Buy some off brand ones. idk why.

    - Some more Fun Lighting: If you want some fun lighting to spice up your set, we use the Eliminator E-137, it works amazing for us! Amazon-$about 50, link.

-Special Effects yay!!!: We use a smoke machine called the PF-400, however it appears to be discont'nd. Snow is always a fun one, those machines run at about $50 on Amazon.

Another note, any DJ/Party Lights are fun and can provide good lighting.

If you have any questions or want more details feel free to PM us.

    Thanks,
    HDFS Team
