A lot of screenwriters advice is to write out full bios for your character, so that you can understand what decisions they would make in the situations you place them in. But I never found I needed to do this. I can usually tell what decisions the characters will make and if I'm at a crossroad I will ask other opinions, but I don't find that having a full bio...

When I write a screenplay, I know more about the characters than I put on the page. But I leave it to the actors to develop their own backstory for their characters - everything that they need to know from me is on the page.

So I have written a script and in it I tried to make all my characters feel as real as possible to do that I thought of backstories that some characters may have and I want to ask you one thing. You see I’ve written that script with a girl (not the MC) who’s backstory I’ve hidden with her actions for example when we first meet her she is doing “manly” jobs like...

I don't know anything about how to get it off the ground though I found that through shootingpeople.com you can "pitch your script". Whatever that means. Haha. I just make sound. :) It is under their '"production" menu.

firesniped started a topic Film Idea in Production
Hello, I have a really good film idea, and have just finished doing the script for the pilot episode of a TV Series. I've asked around at my University and gathered some feedback from a small number of people, and have worked upon that feedback. Everyone has been giving really good feedback on my final piece and are looking forward to watching it once it's...

Oh okay thanks. I will try to word things better. I don't think readers had a problem with the wording the scripts particularly, but they said they had some problems with some of the character decisions. Maybe it was the actual wording though. Basically in Premiere Pro, they do not label the wheels by name, so I got mixed up on which wheel was which. But...

Read again what you write and you'll see it is not the explaination or need to elaborate, but you are just saying it wrong. One does not make the sound come MORE through one speaker than the other by deleting/muting one side. That is the way to make a sound go through one side ONLY. If it comes through one channel ONLY, it is indeed MORE than the other side....

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I was so excited about editing a feature, that I jumped on it without really talking about price and hours, cause I just wanted the experience of editing a feature for people.

Oh okay, I though we were talking about this audio problem, what's hiring people and readers of my script have to do with this? Also, I've hardly had to edit stereo tracks before, so yes, I'm not experienced in that, since I keep editing with mono so far. Or what am I doing wrong in my communications exactly? Do I not explain enough and need to elaborate...
